therapy
“Anything that is human is mentionable and anything that is mentionable can be manageable.”
- Fred Rogers
Have you been navigating difficult life changes or transitions?
Perhaps you are going through happy and positive changes in life but feeling somewhat overwhelmed and uncertain?
Is your sadness, anxiety, anger or frustration reaching unmanageable levels?
Do you know what you need or want to achieve but are struggling to create the framework or behaviours to get you there?
Are you noticing concerning behaviours or patterns in your child or teen?
Could you benefit from some new perspective, knowledge, or tools and strategies to help you parent better?
Do you want to learn how to communicate more effectively in your relationships?
Are you struggling with setting boundaries and achieving the life you want to live?
Do you feel like you could use a safe, non-judgmental space to simply be heard?
Do you need some support?
Therapy is for us all.
My approach is client centered and my goal is to create a warm, safe and private space where together we may explore your past and/or current experiences. We speak about what’s working and what’s not and look at and address your perspectives, feelings and behaviours. The aim of therapy is to find relief, seek solutions, learn tools, and transform those patterns of thought or action that may be preventing you from reaching your goals, whether personally or within your relationships.

Clink on the contact link and send me a message. Let me know what your concerns are and what you are hoping to achieve. I will let you know what my availability for sessions is

It all depends on what you want and need. For some clients their goals can be realized in just a couple of sessions. For others, therapy can last for months or even years.
We will be working towards something specific. As our work evolves we can modify or update our initial treatment goals and determine the frequency with which we meet.
Once we have begun to realize the shifts or changes we were aiming for we may decide to meet with less frequency, eventually moving towards as-needed check ins, or bringing therapy to a close all together. The ultimate goal is for you to apply the changes and growth realized in therapy, independently.
This process is collaborative and driven by you, with input from me.

Yes! Research has shown no significant difference in outcome between telehealth and face-to -face psychotherapy. In fact, there are many benefits to telehealth including:
Elimination of transportation and travel related costs.
Greater ease in fitting your appointments into your schedule as travel time is eliminated.
Having your sessions via telehealth removes the need for concern about running into someone you may know at your face-to-face appointments.

The therapeutic relationship created between client and therapist is the biggest determinate of change and success.
If you are not feeling comfortable in your sessions, let me know. We may be able to work through any discomfort or, I simply may not be the best fit for you. That’s also OK.
If this is the case, I will happily help you connect with a therapist that may be a better fit for you.

Talk therapy is not only useful when things are going wrong. Having a safe, non-judgmental space to share and to ‘hear yourself’ can be a useful tool in helping you to navigate even positive life changes and transitions.
The awareness raised while sharing with a trained professional, coupled with access to evidence-based tools and strategies, can help to enhance your focus and sharpen your strengths.
